S.O.S. Competition Rules:
There are four categories in this Competition – Footwear, Apparel, Color & Materials, and Graphic Design.
You may submit one original design in each category.
Sneakerhead of State judges will select twelve finalists (three in each category).
Finalists will travel to PENSOLE to present their designs and each will receive:
Roundtrip coach-class airfare to PENSOLE in Portland, Oregon for finalists.
Scholarship for one course at PENSOLE.
Sneakerhead of State judges will select four Grand Prize Winners (one in each category).
Winning designs will be made and sold via StockX.
CAN I ENTER? You can enter if you’re a student between 14 and 19 years old who is a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior in high school as of April 1, 2018, and is a legal resident of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia.
You can’t enter, though, if you’re an employee of prize suppliers. You also can’t enter if you’re an immediate family member of or live in the same household as any of these employees. You don’t have to purchase anything to win or participate. Internet access and valid e-mail address required. Void where prohibited. All entries must be received by June 2nd, 2018, 11:59 pm (PT).
OFFICIAL RULES FOR THE SNEAKERHEAD OF STATE DESIGN COMPETITION

2. ELIGIBILITY. The Contest is open only to students who are between 14 and 19 years old as of April 1, 2018, who are a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior in high school and are a legal resident of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. Employees of any prize supplier, their immediate families and persons living in the same household as the employees are not eligible to enter or win.
3. CONTEST TIMELINE.
March 26, 2018: Announce Contest and open registration.
April 2nd, 2018: Contest begins, entry information available online for download.
June 2, 2018: 11:59 pm PDT: Deadline for registration and entries to be submitted.
June 2- June 3, 2018: Global voting period.
June 11, 2018: Announce twelve finalists (three in each category).
June 25, 2018: One week PENSOLE class begins.
July 1, 2018: Live Final Presentation and Winners announced.
4. HOW TO ENTER/DESIGN AND SUBMISSION SPECIFICATIONS. There are a few simple steps you have to follow to enter:

Step 3 – Submit Your Designs
Scan or photograph your designs and submit on sneakerheadofstate.com
Twelve (12) Finalists (three in each category) will each receive:
Roundtrip coach-class airfare to PENSOLE in Portland, Oregon from the major U.S. airport nearest their home.
Scholarship to PNCA|PENSOLE Design Intensive.
Four (4) Grand Prize Winners will receive:

Top 3 Schools with the most Student Submissions will receive $10,000 , $5,000 , and $2,500
Winning Schools with the four (4) Grand Prize Winners will each receive $5,000
Taxes, if any, are the responsibility of each Winner, or parent or legal guardian on behalf of a minor.
NOTE: The actual trip dates are subject to change solely at PENSOLE’s discretion. The departure dates and times are subject to availability and at the sole discretion of Sneakerhead of State. A parent or legal guardian must accompany minors and must travel together on the same itinerary. Certain restrictions and black out dates may apply. No changes will be allowed after any elements of the travel prize have been booked. No frequent flyer mileage will be awarded. Actual value of each prize may vary depending on city of origination, available flights and fluctuations in airfare. Insurance, all expenses and incidentals not mentioned above are the responsibility of each finalist and finalists' travel guest. No substitution or transfer of prize or cash redemption is permitted.
6. FINALIST/WINNER NOTIFICATION.
Each of the potential twelve finalists will be notified by e-mail on or before June 3, 2018. Each potential finalist must confirm their willingness and availability to travel to PENSOLE for the period June 25 through July 1, 2018. SOS Intensive operates as 6 daily sessions. PENSOLE and all its entities are not responsible for minors before 9am and after 6pm. Doors open at 8:45am and lock at 6:15pm. By signing the attached waiver, guardians agree to PENSOLE’s terms and conditions. A selected potential finalist that cannot or does not wish to travel or participate, has violated any of these Official Rules, or is found to be ineligible will be disqualified, and an alternate finalist will be determined. If a potential winner is a minor, the prize(s) will be awarded in the name of the minor’s parent or legal guardian who executes all required paperwork on the minor’s behalf. Each finalist/runner up/Grand Prize Winner (or parent or legal guardian on behalf of the minor and him/herself) releases PENSOLE, its affiliated companies and all employees, agents, and representatives from all liability and responsibility of any kind which is related in any way to the prize(s) (including without limitation any property loss, damage, personal injury or death) and consent to the use of their names and likenesses for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
7. GENERAL CONDITIONS.
Void where prohibited. The Contest is subject to all applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations. In the event that the operation or administration of the Contest is impaired in any way for any reason, PENSOLE may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the Contest to address the impairment and then resume the Contest in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; or (b) award the prize at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. PENSOLE is not responsible for any printing errors in these Official Rules or other materials related to the Contest. PENSOLE reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unethical or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law. PENSOLE’s failure to enforce any part of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that part.
Online entry must be made by the Entrant only at the designated web site. Entries made by any other individual or any entity, and/or originating at any other web site or e-mail address will be invalid and disqualified for the Contest. The use of any device or computer software program to automate the entry process is prohibited. PENSOLE is not responsible for: any incorrect or inaccurate entry information; human error; technical malfunctions; failures, omission, interruption, deletion, or defect of any telephone network, computer online systems, computer equipment, servers, providers, or software, including any damage to Entrant's or any other person's computer resulting from participation in the Contest; inability to access any web site; theft, tampering, destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries; transactions that are processed late or incorrectly or are incomplete or lost.
Proof of entering entry information at the web site is not considered proof of delivery or receipt.
Illegible and incomplete entries will be disqualified.
All entries become the property of PENSOLE and will not be returned.
False and/or deceptive entries or acts shall render Entrants ineligible.
8. HOW DO I OBTAIN A WINNERS LIST?
To receive a list of prize winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope after August 1, 2018 to: Sneakerhead of State, c/o PENSOLE, 10 NW 5th Ave. Portland, OR 97209. All winners' list requests must be received by September 1, 2018.
9. HOW WILL DISPUTES BE HANDLED?
Each Entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this promotion, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without
resort to any form of class action, (2) any judicial proceeding shall take place in a federal or state court within the State of Oregon; (3) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this promotion, but in no event attorneys' fees; and (4) under no circumstances will Entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and Entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, and consequential damages, and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses.
All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of Entrant and PENSOLE in connection with this promotion, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Oregon, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions (whether of the state of Oregon or any other jurisdiction), that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the state of Oregon.
